Speak out in Olympia and get to know your legislators. The best way to build relationships with legislators is by meeting for coffee and exchanging ideas on an issue you care about during "the interim." Interim is the roughly seven months of the year that fall between legislative sessions.

When you reach out to legislators and their assistants during interim, you will be recognized and your views already understood when it's time to speak out during the legislative session. The session opens in January, so the Fall of the year is an ideal to time to start connecting with legislators.
